…With “LIBERTY and JUSTICE for all.”

It should come as no  surprise that in this election cycle the person who should be running away with the prize is now slipping into the vault of history, that place where all former contenders’ names are remembered only by those who have an interest in such affairs. Much like the losing team of Super Bowl XXVIII, or XXVIIII. This is an unthinkable tragedy for the former First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State. In her mind if she does not win the Presidency then she will always play second fiddle to her husband. If indeed Donald Trump goes on to win in November it is very likely that if future generations remember her at all it will only be because she lost an election that was hers to win, and she lost to Donald Trump.

So where exactly did the train leave the tracks for the Democratic nominee? The answer is very simple and it can be summed up in two words: James Comey.  Yes, the FBI director that refused to indict on the basis that criminal intent could not be established. What was established was her incompetence, and that perhaps is an even more damning thing than criminal mischief. Then again there maybe something else at play here, something that has escaped even the most learned of talking heads…JUSTICE.

Having done some deeper study on the issue of justice and the desire for the human heart to not only get justice but also to give justice. Interestingly enough the Bible speaks a great deal about Justice and the desire for God to establish it. So the question is, does reality reflect the scriptures? Turns out it does and in a big way. Scientists have discovered through various tests that the sense or idea of Justice actually lights up the same part of our brains that hunger does. So could this be further proof that we are actually created in the image of God…to create us in a way that justice and food are of equal importance, at least according to our brains. Also, could this explain the downward spiral of Hillary Clinton?

Let’s hypothesize for a moment if we shall…What would have happened if Hillary Clinton would have been indicted? The case would have likely went to trial, a judge and jury provided evidence of either guilt of innocence, and finally a judgment. It is almost a certainty that if Hillary had taken this thing to trial, she would have walked away an innocent woman though a little less wealthy. However in the eyes of every reasonable voter in this country JUSTICE would have prevailed…the system worked. Although the outcome may not have been what we wanted we would have trusted that a jury of our peers had heard the evidence and found that there was nothing substantive to declare her guilty. This would have been a Grand Slam for the Clintons.

Fortunately this is not the case, she never went to trial, never stood before a judge, never addressed the jury…our people. As a result the people have judged anyway, because for us JUSTICE is that important. The judgment is…Guilty, and the guilty must pay.

Guilty of what though? Incompetence…Treason…Stupidity…Improper handling of classified information…or perhaps all of the above. You see in the eyes of the American Voter we are left only to theorize about her guilt. She would have been much better off having gone to trial and it is quite possible that James Comey knew exactly that. It is quite possible that this verdict was the nail in her coffin and the greatest gift Donald Trump has ever received.

  1. Your essay purports to state that Hillary Clinton’s campaign is being based on lies, untruths and non-transparency. I have to disagree with you. If any candidate’s life, beliefs, decisions, mistakes and triumphs have been laid out for all to see, that would be the person of Hillary Clinton. Every move she and her husband, former President, Bill Clinton, make has been scrutinized, investigated, questioned and made public. Voting Americans know exactly what they are getting in the person of Hillary Clinton-someone who is human-someone who makes mistakes, worked and been successful in most areas of her life and career, been a woman scorned and came out of it a stronger woman. People can sympathize with her AND empathize if her. She has earned what she has with blood, sweat and tears and established now and in the past, that she is a practicing Christian of deep faith.

On the other hand, Republican candidate Donald Trump’s acceptance speech spoke of an America with dark images of a country adrift and under threat — seemingly pushing all the buttons of fear that seem to motivate conservative voters. Widely reported studies have shown that conservatives identify with that fear. Often, individuals with strong, opposing views (conservatives) will become frazzled over why the other person can’t “see the light.” Higher scoring stress testers also tended to support military spending, warrantless searches, death penalty, the Patriot Act, obedience, patriotism, the Iraq War, school prayer and the concept of Biblical truth. And they tended to oppose pacifism, immigration, gun control, foreign aid, compromise, premarital sex, gay marriage, abortion rights and pornography.*

The concept of Biblical truth, according to your words, Jared, appeals to these dark images and fear. In other conversations with me, you have shared your belief that one cannot be a Christian without believing in and practicing the divine word of God i.e. The Bible. To think that God would support someone like Donald Trump to lead our country is almost sacrilegious. Trump has not and is not running his campaign with the message that God wants him elected or better yet, he seldom mentions God, prayer or anything else concerning religion except his hate for the Muslim religion. Some have said that Trump is transparent, I would have to agree. What you see is what you get. What you get is dangerous and blasphemous, though. Measuring him by your standards and belief in following the teachings of the Bible,he has been unable to name his favorite book of the Bible, said that he doesn’t ask for forgiveness from God because he’s “not making mistakes,” appeared confused about the beliefs of the Presbyterian denomination he claims, and evoked laughter while speaking at Liberty University earlier this month by referring to a book of the Bible as “two Corinthians” instead of the more common phrase “second Corinthians.” It’s my bet that upon perusing Trump’s home you might find pornography.

My point, in this response to your essay, is that your beliefs and your support of Donald Trump are conflicting and at odds with one another. In digging deeper, please take the time to ask yourself if Trump if the candidate that God would choose to lead our country? I have asked and I have my answer. Have you?

    • My point was that the general perception by most people is that Hillary is in fact everything that Donald Trump has painted her to be…Crooked. The fact is that most Americans feel that if they were the target of this FBI investigation there would no doubt have been an indictment. This leads people to believe the system is rigged and Justice only for the few…not ALL. As far the conversations we have had in the past, I stand by them. No where in this article did I say that GOD endorsed Donald Trump…so your point is moot. I am not God and therefore cannot speak on his behalf in areas that are clearly in his charge. God did however not only speak through Isaiah about a future King named Cyrus and the blessing he would be to the Hebrew people in captivity. This King was by no means a Godly man, yet God used him to accomplish his will. So there you go, can God use Donald Trump despite his ungodly ways…Absolutely! In the same way he could use Hillary despite her equally ungodly life. Yet, the only candidate that has sworn to protect the rights of Christians in this campaign has been Donald Trump…wonder why that is?
